Of all of our costumes over the years, the Peter Pan family costume was fairly basic. We didn’t DIY a lot and didn’t get super creative. But! There are two reasons I love this one.
- I had just found out I was pregnant with Kellen in early October and no one knew yet. I dressed as Smee who happens to have a huge belly. I stuffed mine with a pillow and announced to my family at our neice’s annual costume birthday party that I was pregnant with #4! Everyone got very confused trying to figure out if my belly was partly real (lol, it wasn’t…I was only like 6 weeks along!).
- I made Kinley’s “Wendy” dress. I don’t sew a lot and am not very good at it but had fun making her a dress from scratch.

Why was Captain Hook in shorts, you ask? This was still in the days when Jeremy only agreed to participate if he could wear shorts and didn’t have to wear any makeup. Those are still his rules, but if you have seen our Hollywood Movie Monsters costume, you see rules are meant to be broken. 🙂
